Returning to do the Leaving Certificate having left school many years before was a big challenge. It was like the first day I began school as a child. I wanted to run away to the safety of our home, but I stayed and it only took a day to settle in as the teachers and support staff made me so welcome. They were so helpful to me throughout the year. I also made many wonderful friends.

I was apprehensive about returning to education as I left school in 1st year with no exams completed, but once I started the Adult Leaving Cert Course in the College of Commerce, all that changed.

It was the best decision I had made in a long time and the course coordinator and teachers could not have been more helpful.  I believe more opportunities will open up for me now I have completed the course. I would recommend the College of Commerce to anyone considering a return to education.

After doing badly in my Leaving Certificate the first time I decided to go back do it a second time. I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made as I am now hoping to go on and obtain a qualification in Accounting Technician here in the College of Commerce. Thanks to the teachers and the course director I am well on my way to achieving this goal. I would recommend to anyone considering going back to education to do so as for me it is the start of a bright career prospect and it is down to the support I have been given during the year here in the College of Commerce.

Having left school at the beginning of sixth year to start learning a trade I was always annoyed at myself for not doing my Leaving Cert, so in 2016 I decided to return to education. It was nerve wracking at first but all my worries soon disappeared. The teachers in the college are amazing at their jobs. To get a large group of adults who for some have been out of school for up to twenty years ready to sit an exam in eight months when it takes secondary students two even three years is some going, I would highly recommend the College of commerce to anyone thinking of going back to school to do the Leaving Cert.
