CIT Cork Colleges Progression Scheme (CCPS)
In addition to the Higher Education Links Scheme entry arrangements, Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has established a special scheme for students who successfully complete courses in Further Education Colleges in Cork called the Cork Colleges Progression Scheme (CCPS).
Under the CCPS a number of courses in CIT are linked to certain courses in the FE Colleges.
CIT reserves a number of places on its linked courses for applicants receiving specified levels and other requirements in their awards.
Students taking a full FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 award linked under the CCPS to a specific course in CIT may apply for year 1 entry.
Students taking a full FETAC Level 6 award linked under the CCPS to a specific course in CIT may apply for year 2 entry.
All CCPS applicants should apply for the CIT course through the CAO – CAO deadline 1st February. Late CAO applications up to 1st May from candidates other than Mature Students. Applicants to year 1 and/or year 2 need to complete the CCPS application form and submit it to us here in Cork College of Commerce. These forms are available from the main office.
You must inform your Course Director that you are applying under the CCPS. Cork College of Commerce will then forward the completed applications (reference and results) to the CIT Admissions Office.
The minimum requirement for year 1 or year 2 entry onto courses in CIT is a full QQI level 5 award with 5 merits. Some courses in CIT have more specific requirements. Check our database for specific requirements for your course https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q5QjQuIjtVR3uF_nk0vhVuLCyXgMRouW5dKjSppctHI/pubhtml. If successful, students will receive an offer through the CAO at Round 2 (end of August).
