This course is designed for those who wish to work with children under the age of 6 years and is especially geared towards Montessori. It is both a nationally and internationally recognised qualification and students who have successfully graduated are now working, worldwide, in the sector. The course covers a child’s overall development from conception until 6 years.
This qualification is the minimum requirement for those wishing to work in the area Students get the opportunity to have hands-on experience and acquire the theory to support it. Many additional features enrich the overall experience of the course.

Leaving Certificate. Mature students are exempt from Leaving Certificate requirement. All applicants are interviewed and garda vetted. Police clearance is required for non-Irish nationals.
(Applicants with 2 H5 grades on higher level Leaving Certificate papers and required results from QQI level 6 6M2007 are guaranteed a place in year 3 (CR_HMONT_8) Level 8 BA Montessori Education CIT)

Excellent progression opportunities to UCC and other Higher Education colleges. Special arrangements in place with CIT (CCPS), Tralee IT and Waterford IT for preferential entry for College of Commerce students. Students are qualified as Assistant Early Childhood Practitioners in pre-schools and crèches, Special Needs Assistants and can work as a Child Minder in the home. All students can access the Jobs Advice Hub. Graduates can subscribe to ‘CCOC college jobs register’ and CCOC LinkedIn alumni for up to date vacancies and networking.
Last year I did QQI Level 5 Certificate in Office Administration, Medical and Dental Receptionist. I found the College of Commerce most welcoming and the teachers so helpful and encouraging. I gained confidence in myself as a person and found the whole experience helped me in my future career.
